libraries. Sara (DVD) Ronan (CD) and
Danny (books) will be custodians of the new swap/share scheme. All 3 will operate in the same way. To join,
just donate two (more if you like but quality rather than quantity is the aim) good
books/CDs/DVDs to the scheme with a one sentence recommendation /description
for each and give them to R/S or D. The
list will then appear on the website so you can see what is available to borrow. To borrow, contact R/S or D directly or via
the dedicated email cfelibraries@gmail.com
to arrange to collect the one you want to borrow. In exchange, give one to them as a donation,
with a one sentence recommendation /description. That’s it.
No need to return the item, but you can if you want to. Sara is planning to be at the market on
Friday morning with the DVD’s so a good chance to join and fix up your weekend
film. The next book club meeting July 12th
might be a good chance to get the book library going.
Film Club offer. It was agreed to post a request for an
exchange by Clon film club. IN exchange
for help setting up a website and cheering up their facebook page they are
offering 6 tickets to films in the autumn season.
Flood
Help Squads
CFE is working with the Chamber of Commerce, Town Council,
GAA and others to coordinate a fundraising and flood damage repair group of
volunteers. See www.clonflood.com
The meeting agreed to make the flood a giving project not
related to favour exchanges, and to ask members to sign up to help with the
flood effort via the new website.
Group agreed that CFE members could be asked to coordinate
help squads which will also involve volunteers from the general public.
Fundraising
Voluntary help squads will need materials to renovate
buildings – paint, carpets, wood etc.
Funds are to be raised via website and credit union donations, But CFE
will also organise fundraisers to help with this effort.
